FOR IMMEDIATE HIRE:

The Gaming Ecosystem Organization in #TeamXbox is looking for a social media copywriter to join their communications team who is dedicated to elevating and celebrating the diversity, creativity and ingenuity of game creators everywhere. In addition to highlighting the artistry of games, the social handles on Twitter and LinkedIn will equally showcase the technical, creative, and business opportunities of game development, point to inspiring leaders and creators across industries and will actively engage with other voices across the gaming industry. To further spark social conversation, these handles are encouraged to engage creative and business leaders from adjacent industries daily.

 

NOTE: This is a contract position estimated at 20 hrs/week for a minimum of six months.

Overview

Do you love gaming and enjoy sparking conversations about the opportunities, news and issues influencing game developers? Are you inspired by the intersection of art and tech that game creation represents? Do you have an eye for detail and love doing deep research to be an expert in what you are talking about? If so, this role may be right for you.


The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working on a team, is detail-oriented, fastidious, and scrupulous. This job is made for someone who wants to join a team of talented communicators and help them produce high quality content ensuring what is produced is at its highest caliber without any mistakes. Working in partnership with the Engineering, Marketing and PR, the social media copywriter is responsible for daily editing, research, and copywriting.


Essential Responsibilities and Duties


  • Articulately draft, edit and publish social copy and associated images, mainly on Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • Develop and manage an editorial calendar that aligns with team priorities, releases, and beats.
  • Examine content with scrutiny and attention to detail, fact checking content accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Understand and adhere to company social guidelines.
  • Audit and assess performance through analytics.

 

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications


  • Two to five years of experience as a Copywriter or Social Media Manager in marketing, branding, advertising, or communications.
  • Knowledge of and passion for the global gaming industry.
  • Experience writing social content related to diversity and inclusion topics a plus.
  • Ability to do minor editing to images to align to difference social channels. 
  • Global and cultural awareness; proven competency for working in diverse and inclusive teams.
  • Ability to work effectively remotely (and across time zones, when necessary).

Physical Demands and Work Environment


Must be comfortable sitting or standing in front of a computer, in an office environment or a conference room, for many hours. Must be capable of delivering excellent work product in a remote and/or home-based setting. Candidates must have the ability to confidently and effectively speak with and present to groups of stakeholders and cross-functional teams internally and externally.
