Overview
Summary/Objective:
This position is to assist the Operations Supervisor and Lead in supervising and maintaining an efficient and effective Weld Department. This position will be responsible for helping out Weld Associates when needed and reporting any associate or weld issues to the Operations Supervisor and/or Manager. This position will report to the Operations Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in leading associates through daily activities
- Operate manual and automated welding unites and equipment
- Maintain length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead
- Examine weld for bead size and other specifications
- Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes
- Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in a jig fixture
- Tack assemblies together
- Communicate and work closely with all associates, Leads, Supervisors and Operations Manager
- Schedule work to meet customer demands and define requirements
- Troubleshoot and solve problems within the Weld department
- Ability to move parts to meet delivery schedules
- Ability to support manufacturing by supplying direct help, when needed
- Compliance to the LTE QMS or other procedure requirement
- Direct incoming materials and completed units to reduce travel
- Follow blueprints in the construction and assembly of steel products
- Perform part checks/Buyoffs
- Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Work Experience: 2 years of weld experience and applicable leadership experience
- Education: High School Diploma
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills necessary
- Organization Skills: Maintain clean and organized work space; ability to work and handle multiple job assignments
- Cross-functional Skills: Ability to work with other production departments in order to meet deadlines
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate within a team setting
- Physical, Mental and Visual Skills: Ability to lift, bend, and twist throughout the workday; will be required to lift between 50 to 75 pounds on a regular basis, and up to 90lbs occasionally; familiar with welding symbols
- Physical Environment: Fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Requirements:
- Work Experience: 3 years of welding/Lead experience
