DescriptionPosition OverviewThe Engineering Intern will be an opportunity to complete several key projects in a local injection molding facility for an international manufacturer. This role will partner with the Management, Engineering, Production, Quality Toolroom and Maintenance Teams.Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and assist with multiple assembly machine, injection mold press, ancillary equipment and facility improvements to occasionally include light fabrication tasksAssist with safety and PPE signage in manufacturing operationsCreate and edit work instructions including, as needed, video instructions for various technical tasksAssist with and coordinate 5S work area improvementsAssist with preventative maintenance planning for equipment, including the potential setup of a new CMMS (computerized maintenance management system)Update facility drawings and create PDFs in AutoCADCreate customized training modules for online safety training resourceOptimize Toolroom and Maintenance Shop parts inventory systemsDesign quality and test fixtures in CREO and 3D printParticipate in safety audits, update safety work instructionsParticipate in training programs and advocate for proactive safety actionsOther duties as directedExperience & QualificationsEducation High school Diploma, GED or equivalent experienceExperience Progression in collegiate program preferably in manufacturing, mechanical or industrial engineeringPrefer candidate to have completed basic engineering processes, engineering mechanics and CAD sections of their educationSpecific skillsEffective verbal, written and interpersonal skills are requiredAbility to walk, climb steps and stand in place for several hours throughout the course of the dayAbility to lift up to 60 poundsEquipment/machinery experience and skillsFamiliarity with using hand tools, small power tools preferredPreferred Computer experience CAD skills (CREO, AutoCAD or KeyCreator preferred)Video editing skills preferredAdvanced computer skills to include Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams and PowerPoint (MS Access preferred)
