Kiwa UK is looking for a Principal Technical Consultant to join our Pest Consultancy within Kiwa Agri Food. To inspect and audit of a wide range of manufacturing, warehousing and retail facilities both in the UK and overseas. This role is a remote/field-based position. About the role

  • Provide day to day management of the Kiwa Independent Pest Consultancy (KPIC) sub-team. Schedule and allocate inspections and other work to the team. Ensuring that any queries are dealt with efficiently and proactively and appropriate training is provided.
  • Support the Head of KIPC on the business development of the KIPC service line and to take responsibility for management of selected key clients.
  • Deputise for the Line Manager (Head of KIPC). Be a coach and mentor for all team members, and specifically Senior Technical Consultants & Technical Consultants directly reporting into this role.
  • Ensure strong working relationships with all Kiwa Agri Food colleagues.
  • Lead the Team to deliver a best-in-class service to customers.
  • To continually evaluate the processes for allocation and scheduling of contract work.
  • Working with the central marketing team, to lead on the development of marketing content to promote the services of KIPC. Reproduction of technical reports and articles for internal and external publications.
  • To ensure the team are fully utilised, and where this is not possible that BD and marketing activities are delivered.
  • Work with the Head of KIPC, ensuring that resources are in place to ensure optimal, efficient delivery of services, with the team having clear communication on the expectations of the roles and delivery targets.
  • Review a selection of customer reports, ensuring customers receive quality insight and data.
  • Ensure team development and training to support clear succession plans.
  • Ensure all employees in the KIPC sub-team receive a meaningful appraisal in line with the company’s processes and procedures.
  • To deliver ‘in field’ inspection and audit delivery with customers, across manufacturing, warehousing and retailing facilities both in the UK and overseas.
  • Reporting (using a structured template) to clients following the completion of the audit.
  • Produce a detailed, and accurate, photographic inspection report, in line with KIPC Company Policy.
  • Delivery of training courses.
  • Representation of the Company at meetings of external companies and organisations (BPCA for example).

 

Do you have what it takes?

Expected technical knowledge and competencies:

  • Advanced biology of the principal pest groups.
  • Pesticide groups and formulations.
  • Pesticide application equipment.
  • The principles of Integrated Pest Management and practical application of these.
  • Reporting and documentations.
  • Food safety legislation and practices.
  • Knowledge of common food equipment and processes.
  • Knowledge of the principal food safety standards.
  • Bird management and control techniques.
  • Pest control and pesticide legislation and safety practices.
  • Risk Assessment.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • BPCA  Advanced Technician in Pest Management.
  • Level 4 Food Safety.
  • Level 3 Auditing and Inspection.
  • BPCA Certificated Field Biologist.
