What are the responsibilities and job description for the Care Coordinator-Intake Specialist position at List Psychological Services?

Position Summary: Represent the organization to clientele and outside sources. Answer inquiries and obtain information from clientele. Verify insurance coverage for clientele and schedule appointments. Provide information regarding activities conducted at establishment; location of departments, offices, and employees within the organization. Perform all duties utilizing agency policies and procedures, and any other assigned clerical duties.
Tasks:
1. Communicate with persons outside the organization, represent the organization to clientele, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged face-to-face, in writing, or via telephone/electronic transfer.
2. Answer telephone to schedule future appointments, provide information, or forward call.
3. Complete telephone intakes, screening for services, verify insurance and eligibility for new clients, changes in client information and internal case transfers.
4. Provide support and follow up with office reception, clinical staff and clientele regarding client and insurance, scheduling and inquiries.
5. Record, compile, enter, and retrieve information, by hand or using computer.
6. Entering, recording, storing, or maintaining information in either written form or by electronic/magnetic recording.
7. Coordinate and maintain schedules for therapists, physicians, rooms, and transportation of agency materials.
8. Assist the billing department with various activities such as submission of agency charges to third party payers, follow-through of unpaid claims/rejections to ensure receipt of payment, including monthly/special billing invoices and follow-up of claim rejections and unpaid claims.
9. Collaborate with supervisor(s) to identify system issues regarding assigned responsibilities and interaction with other departments.
10. Generate reports or calculate data as requested.
11. Attend monthly staff meetings and supervision meetings as requested or needed.
General Tasks:
1. Use and disclose protected health information only as authorized in their job description or as authorized by a supervisor.
2. Conduct oral discussions of personal health information with other staff or with clients and family members in a manner that limits the possibility of inadvertent disclosures.
3. Complete privacy training and other trainings required by the credentialing entities (COA, LARA) or funding entities.
4. Report all suspected violations of the policies and procedures and/or business associate agreement terms.
5. Participation in the LPS Continuous Quality Improvement program (CQI) and processes. Providing quality feedback and offering improvement ideas as new areas of the agency develop and in service to our staff and clients.
6. Follow List Psychological policies and procedures.
7. Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
