What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Writer position at Litify?
Litify is looking for a Technical Writer to join our Product & Engineering team. In this role you’ll be assisting product managers and other technical writers to improve our external knowledge base (help.litify.com). Internal staff and external clients alike rely on this site to learn what our products are, how to use them, and how to customize them to maximize their experience.
Litify has a number of existing products with documentation needs, such as: Matters Intakes (our core case management product), Docrio (our document management software), and the Litify Referrals Network (or LRN, which helps firms send and receive case referrals). With these products constantly being updated, and more to come, we’re eager for someone to join our team, learn a lot, and write great content!
In this role you will be responsible for the following:
- Drafting new pieces of content as new products are released or existing ones are updated.
- Auditing existing Help.Litify.com content for outdated or obsolete documentation.
- Updating documents to meet our style guide, replacing outdated visual elements (images, GIFs, and videos), and rewriting sections that are incorrect or missing content.
- Work with Product Managers to fill gaps in documentation for various products.
- Perform peer reviews to improve the overall quality of our content.
The ideal candidate meets the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field.
- 2-4 years industry experience as an effective technical writer.
- Ideally someone who is 2 years out of college.
- Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.
- Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience working with engineering to improve user experience.
