What are the responsibilities and job description for the Babysitter/Nanny position at Little Bugzz Babysitting?
Little Bugzz Babysitting is looking for quality sitters who are reliable, caring, trustworthy and patient, to serve Pinellas and Hillsborough County families. This is an ideal role for caregivers who love their work, are looking to either take on more opportunities or fill their availability AND who want to spend more time working with kids -- and less time marketing their services.
Little Bugzz is the premier baby-sitting service in the St. Petersburg and Tampa Bay areas, and has an established database of families who are looking to connect with quality sitters. While you will retain your contractor designation -- and keep complete flexibility on your hours, availability, rate and more! -- this opportunity allows you to immediately step into a community and a role where there is high demand from vetted families.
A few things for you to consider as well: We are committed to YOUR success. As a team member at Little Bugzz, you will enjoy:
- A listing in the Little Bugzz Email, including your bio, your photo, your services and your certifications
- Complete ownership over your schedule (you only list the dates and times when you’re willing and available to work)
- Opportunities for growth, additional earning potential, and access to the Little Bugzz Babysitting community
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities to stimulate learning and development- Supervise children during playtime, meals, and naptime- Ensure the well-being and safety of all children in your care- Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding their childrens’ night
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written- Ability to multitask and handle stressful situations with patience and composure- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus
- 16 years or older
- Reliable transportation to and from jobs within a 15 - mile radius of St. Petersburg Florida
- You must pass a background check, complete (with a passing score) a babysitting course, and become CPR certified.
And of course, you agree to act with professionalism and integrity at all times. That means respect for our families and their unique homelife rules, limited cell phone use during babysitting engagements, and keeping open communication with the Little Bugzz team with concerns regarding your schedule, your experience, and more.
As a Childcare Provider, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children by providing them with a safe and nurturing environment. You will play a crucial role in their early education and development. We offer competitive pay and a supportive work environment.
Additional Expectations:
- Service and community are two core values for Little Bugzz, so we ask that the person in this role be prepared to volunteer their time once a week with a local school (this will be facilitated by Little Bugzz, requires no more than an hour a week, and the scheduling is very flexible).
- Little Bugzz babysitters are asked to participate in a monthly 1:1 Zoom meeting with the company founder, and attend quarterly team meetings in person. There may be additional (occasional!) events to attend throughout the year.
The person who will thrive in this role does not see baby-sitting as a short-term career. This person loves working with families and wants to fill his or her schedule with bookings from amazing families who truly appreciate their service! While it’s not a requirement, the most successful Little Bugzz baby-sitters have long-term goals that align with working with kids and/or families (teacher, nanny, daycare director, principal, dance teacher, gymnastics coach, etc.)
Please note: Little Bugzz is not a physical location or brick-and-mortar daycare. You will be matched with families and offer baby-sitting services in their homes and other agreed-upon locations.
If you are passionate about working with children and have the necessary qualifications, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your resume along with a cover letter detailing your experience in childcare.
