Your Mission
We are looking for an individual with a passion for helping people and making a true difference to those in need every serving. In the role, under limited supervision, you will drive the Love Kitchen vehicle, pick up food orders from designated stores, prepare pizzas and manage Little Caesars franchise store employees and volunteers when they staff the Love Kitchen at serving sites. You will maintain the working order of the Love Kitchen, including repair and scheduled maintenance, as well as compliance with all DOT guidelines.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Drive the Love Kitchen to each serving site. Plan quickest, safest routes to location to assure Love Kitchen arrives on time.
Manage all Little Caesars franchise store employees and volunteers who staff the Love Kitchen at serving sites.
Work with scheduler(s) to confirm scheduled servings. May contact franchisees and serving sites before each serving to make sure plans are accurate.
Set up and take down the Love Kitchen at each serving site (turn on/off oven switches and start/stop generator, clean, etc.).
Drive to each designated store location to load food order onto truck three hours before scheduled serving.
Prepare pizzas for the serving when operator labor cannot be secured.
Maintain working order of all Love Kitchen equipment. Perform minor repairs as required.
Keep accurate trip records to be submitted to Penske or Ryder.
Obtain receipts for all expenses and submit weekly expense reports.
Monitor permit records on units. Obtain necessary permits as needed.
Communicate regularly with corporate and fellow Love Kitchen teammates to ensure alignment.
Record the names / secure releases of all Love Kitchen volunteers at each serving.
Secure photo releases of all clients and organization staff at each serving when photos or videos are taken.
Keep driver logs as required by federal DOT regulations.
Communicate with Love Kitchen scheduler(s) or coordinator(s) to help prepare press releases and written communications about the schedule for franchisees and the soup kitchen.
Coordinate with repair and maintenance vendors on Love Kitchen repairs.
Answer questions from franchisees and others on Love Kitchen operations.
Who You Are
Charismatic team player with excellent people and verbal communication skills in order to deal with franchisees, serving site personnel, corporate officers, clients and media (on occasion).
Comfortable with public speaking to small crowds, when necessary, at serving events.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and follow an atlas map in order to plan Love Kitchen routes.
Analytical skills necessary to troubleshoot mechanical problems with equipment.
Knowledge of federal DOT regulations in order to keep Love Kitchen units within federal regulations.
Basic mathematical skills needed to fill out weekly expense reports.
Ability to lift approximately 30-40 pounds in order to assemble outside signage.
Ability to load and unload moderate amounts when picking up food orders.
Must have a Class-A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A).
Two years tractor/trailer operation experience, preferred.
Familiar with smartphone and computer operating systems (ie. How to operator a smartphone and computer, how to use apps on computer and smartphone such as Teams, Microsoft apps, logistic apps, etc.)
Where You’ll Work
Your typical / current schedule will be one-day travel to site, six days of servings, and one-day travel home from site. Then you will have four days off. The schedule will then repeat.
You will be serving at homeless shelters, veteran facilities, churches, food organizations, etc. across the country; working with individuals in need or potentially down on their luck.
When unfortunate disasters occur, a Love Kitchen may be deployed to help those in need once a disaster site is safe. This may influence your schedule and your normal work environment. Disaster servings have included areas impacted by hurricanes, tornadoes, wildfires, mass shootings, etc.
You will have daily exposure to loud noise from generator that powers Love Kitchen unit.
