Job Posting for Teacher Assistant at Little Harvard
Little Harvard is looking for an Assistant Teacher for our New Windsor location. The person applying for this job must be extremely flexible and be able to adapt to change rather quickly. This person will be required to work with children ages 2-12 years old. The person applying for this job must fall under the following education categories:
High School diploma or its equivalent
AND
One year of experience working with children less than 13 years of age
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
assisting in the planning, supervising and implementing the program for the class in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the school.
help children become aware of their roles as an integral part of group.
maintain classroom environment
assume an equal share of housekeeping responsibilities: cleaning, disinfecting, restocking
must attend all staff meetings
must participate and comply with the required training hours set forth by Little Harvard and NYS Regulations for Day Care Centers. Teacher Assistants must participate and attend any recommended training classes, conferences and courses that may expand on ones professional growth. 15 of your training must be completed in the first 6 months.
planning and implement methods of establishing a positive relationship with the children and their parents: sunshine notes, and ouch grams.
teacher assistants are required to maintain a classroom log, which will be written in on a daily basis.
Staff is required to keep any information pertaining to children, families, team members and school policies and procedures confidential.
maintain classroom environment: learning centers, sensory center, reading center, dramatic play center, block center, discovery/science center, manipulative center, art expression area, sensory table and snack item area
assume an equal share of house of housekeeping responsibilities.
must comply with the required training hours set forth by NY State Regulations for daycare (OCFS). Must participate in training conferences, classes and courses to expand on ones professional growth.
Plan and implement methods of establishing a positive relationship with the children and their parents.
Maintain both a personal and classroom log book which will be written in on a daily basis.
**Hourly rate of pay will be determined by work experience and level of education in the field of Early Childhood Education**

Pay: $14.50 - $15.00 per hour
