Little Traverse Bay Humane Society (LTBHS) is seeking highly reliable individual to join our staff long-term and work together to fulfill our organizational mission to sustainably and respectfully serve pets and the people who love them with compassionate, comprehensive and exemplary care.
Applicants must be focused on attention to detail as thorough cleaning and care is needed to keep our animals healthy. It is a physically demanding position that may require applicants to stand on their feet for an 8-10 hour day, to clean within an allotted time frame, to lift at least 40 lbs, and to work in all weather conditions. Working with rescue animals often requires patience, understanding, and flexibility, as their individual needs may vary significantly. The staff must truly work as a team, understanding that we share the same goal.
Training is focused on the daily care of the shelter cats and dogs, preparing them for their future forever families. Activities include but are not limited to the handling of domestic animals of all ages, temperaments, and sizes; the cleaning of kennels using RESCUE or products containing bleach; the feeding and medicating of animals; the basic grooming, training, and enrichment; the cleaning of all facilities and equipment; and the cleaning, collection, and disposal of waste and other bodily fluids.
Interviewing for an animal care attendant position will also lead to opportunities for a similar position within our other units which include shelter, boarding, grooming, training, and daycare departments as well as potential for opportunities at our veterinary clinic.

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
