POSITION SUMMARY:
Coach English Language Development teachers in best instructional strategies of Language Acquisition and within the framework of district and state content standards. Provide coaching and staff development for ELD teachers, co-teaching partnerships, and large groups of educators. Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work cooperatively with students, parents, and staff required. Working knowledge of subject matter assigned, classroom management, best practices and strategies, students' learning styles and needs.
DUTIES:
- Provide instructional coaching for K-12 ELD teachers and Family Liaisons
- Lead coaching cycles for new ELD teachers
- Deliver professional development to ELD teachers, schools, and co-teaching partnerships
- Support the development of co-teaching model, ELD interventions, and support for dual-identified students
- Provide instructional coaching for classroom teachers at non-ELD program schools
- Support implementation of translation and interpretation procedures for the district-approved translators and interpreters
- Supervise the identification, redesignation, and monitoring procedures for students
- Support state standardized assessments
- May directly work with student groups at any level K-12 as needed for staffing
- Experience working with adult learners preferred
- Previous coaching experience preferred
- Experience with teaching ELD students at multiple levels preferred
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Successful applicants must be properly licensed for assignment as a Professional Educator according to the Colorado Department of Education.
STARTING SALARY RANGE:
(Annual salary schedule based on 1.0 FTE)
