POSITION SUMMARY:
Guides, coordinates and supports other school staff in implementing school wide advisory programs. Uses responsive counseling strategies to establish relationships and collaborate with educators, students, families, and community partners which reflect recognition of and respect for each individual.
DUTIES:
- Provide individual/group guidance, counseling and consultive services to
students and parents/guardians. Assist students in improving life skills..
- Plan and organize the district's administration of the nationally normed, standardized testing program at the building level. Interpret the results of the nationally normed standardized tests to student, parents/guardians and staff. Provide supplementary testing opportunities and interpretation for specialized needs placement. Participate in the development, assessment and interpretation of student learning behavioral outcomes.
- Provide educational information and orientation services to students, parents/guardians and staff regarding the variety and extent of school district programs.
- Provide educational information and assistance regarding appropriate individual student placement in school programs.
- Inform students, parents/guardians, and staff of the availability of career information materials upon request. Provide opportunities for improving critical thinking, problem solving, decision making and independent learning in students.
- Update and maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development as required by school, district, state and federal policies, regulations and laws.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Successful applicants must be properly licensed for assignment as a Professional Educator according to the Colorado Department of Education.
STARTING SALARY RANGE:
(Annual salary schedule based on 1.0 FTE)
