What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Finance position at Livingston Community Health?

Under the direct supervision of the CFO, the Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing and directing finance and accounting related functions including but not limited to preparing grant applications, reporting and financing activities of the organization; coordinating financial and variance analyses; and reviewing and analyzing budgets, financial statements, feasibility studies, forecasts, and analyses. The Director of Finance will provide supervision, training, development, and management of Finance staff including but not limited to financing, budgeting, financial analysis, grant management, financial and statistical reporting, and purchasing staff.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees all grants management, cost reporting, cash flows, and financing operations;
- Supervises, trains, and develops the onsite finance team to include the accounting and purchasing staff within the Finance department;
- Directs and participates in the development of finance and related internal controls policies and procedures;
- Oversees grant accounting, drawdown, billing, reporting, and monitoring grants;
- Prepares financial analyses of clinics’ performance and offers recommendations as appropriate;
- Manages and oversees Medicare and Medi-Cal cost report submission including change in scope, Medi-Cal PPS reconciliations; related audits and transactions impacting the financial statements;
- Coordinates and completes internal and external financial statements and analyses timely for review by the CFO, leadership/management, and the board;
- Develops budgets for grant applications, tracks grants, and prepare periodic grant reports;
- Reviews reports as required by funding sources and governmental agencies including invoices and yearly reports for final review by the CFO;
- Maintains compliance with regulatory requirements, including all federal, state, local regulations and accrediting organization standards;
Education:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration with special emphasis in Finance or Accounting or equivalent years of related experience and/or training.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in directing accounting or finance activities preferably in a Federally Qualified Health Center or similar healthcare setting.
- Must know theory and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience in managing complex projects that are strategic in nature and scope.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $111,000.00 - $151,400.00 per year
