Computer Services Assistant - Provisional appointment (must be reachable on Civil Service list after exam is offered)
- Up to $20.00/hour based on experience

Typical Work Activities -
- Uses previously designed and stored programs to set up and make changes in standard forms and/or variable documents by manipulating keyboard activated cursors on display screen;
- Installs communications software for remote access to system;
- Installs hardware adapter boards, modems and other peripheral equipment;
- Installs, operates and maintains computer software;
- Assists coordinators in loading appropriate software, program files and data files for training sessions;
- Monitors local and wide area network system and works with various data processing staff to ensure uninterrupted operation;
- Previews software for potential purchase and use;
- Reviews new programs to assure completion according to predetermined requirements;
- Analyzes the flow of information between the data center and the various units participating in the data processing system;
- May operate an electronic computer and related peripheral equipment in compiling and processing data for a variety of statistical and financial reports;
- Consults with superiors and reports problems and deviations affecting workload and scheduling;
- Prepares documentation for users of on-line terminals, that provides direction for use of electronic office and administrative software; and
- Performs other related duties as required.
