Summary
This position coordinates the design work for a project by applying engineering fundamentals under the direct supervision of the Project Manager.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE
Our exciting and entrepreneurial culture will require you to think creatively, solve problems and meet the needs of our clients daily. A typical day might include the following:
- Preparing estimates of probable construction cost.
- Understanding standard construction materials and choosing appropriate specifications.
- Understanding storm design and its hydraulic components and ability to apply different criteria.
- Generating earthwork calculations considering stripping and compaction factors.
- Being familiar with Agency Submittals/Approvals as it applies to the project.
- Using general mathematical skills to manipulate standard design formulas.
- Interacting with outside agencies and project team members.
- Carrying out assigned duties as required.
- Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of extensive drafting and engineering technician experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D for detailed civil site design/land development.
- Proficiency in site geometric design, grading design, drainage design and utility design.
- Effective communication skills both oral and written.
- Effective interpersonal skills with coworkers and public agency officials.
- Ability to build strong relationships.
- Ability to be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project needs.
- Proficiency in the use of 3DS Max, SketchUp and/or ArcGIS.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD, ICPR, HEC-RAS and other engineering design software.
- Experience with MicroStation ORD.
- Previous work experience in an AEC related firm.
