We are looking for a candidate to fill an Operations Lead within the Training Branch of the Safety Practice in our Charlotte, NC office.
SAFETY TRAINING LEAD MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the team that facilitates LJB's Fall Protection courses to include training for: Competent Person, Authorized Person, and Qualified Person. This includes:
- Lead courses delivered to LJB clients (1-day to 5-days in length)
- Uncover client needs during training
- Gather individual class evaluation data
- Lead the maintenance, development and delivery of client requested safety training programs
- Working closely with Talent Acquisition and local staff to recruit high energy, growth-oriented individuals for the service line.
- Develop workload projections and facilitating work sharing to share with Practice Operations Leader and other branch operations leaders
- Lead employee engagement and retention, and the satisfactory completion of the performance management program
- Maintain regularly scheduled one-on-one meetings with direct reports and ensure all other people managers are communicating with all staff.
- Review timesheets and authorize overtime, vacation, etc.
- Assist with sharing details to help the Operations Leader develop the 6-month, annual budget.
- Weekly work-sharing conversations among the department should be held to maintain resource billability.
- Other duties as assigned.
SAFETY TRAINING LEAD QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- 7 years' experience possessing knowledge and experience in fall protection; fall protection training experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in civil or architectural engineering or safety field, or equivalent experience in a related field preferred, but not required
- CSP or ASP with ability to attain CSP certification within 2 years required; Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards such as OSHA and ANSI Z359 required.
- Minimum six years of adult education/training experience. Preferably in the field of safety training, specifically fall protection training.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
SAFETY TRAINING LEAD KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to travel throughout the year, 2 to 3 trips per month
- Must be detail and service oriented with good interpersonal skills
- Able to communicate with employees at all levels
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional groups and teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
