In order to accomplish our goal we pride ourselves on effective and streamlined communication, ongoing mentoring and support, collaboration between our core therapeutic disciplines (assistive tech, intervention specialists, OT, ABA, and PT), and providing our professionals with the materials and tools they need to succeed. Position Details The Art Therapist is responsible for the provision of Art Therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic activity interventions, documentation and discharge planning. The therapist utilizes individual and/or group interventions to bring about positive changes in the patient's behavior, be-it cognitive, social, emotional, or physical. The therapist educates the patient in healthy coping skills, and available resources to continue the client in post-discharge planning and involvement. The therapist will be responsible for the provision of services according to the current standards of practice. This position will be located at our ABA clinic locations and we are looking for 2-3 hours per week. Locations: Clinic (Fairlawn, Hudson, Medina, Mentor) Start: Immediately Essential Accountabilities for the Art Therapist Conduct evaluations or re-evaluations as needed. Establish treatment goals and objectives to meet individual needs of patients and determine the Art Therapy Modality by which the goals are achieved. Provide therapy according to the treatment plan while monitoring progress and adjusting therapy, using the Art Therapy Modality. Develop and apply clinical skills by interviewing and assessing patient's level of functioning, observing patient participation in Art Therapy Sessions and their response to the same. Document, monitor, and analyze the patient's progress and effects of treatment. Communicate, educate, and provide family training on the patient's individualized treatment plans. Attend treatment team conferences to exchange information and observations with other members of the team, as well as assisting with the completion of the initial Treat Consult and collaborate with family and other staff or supports (i.e., physician, school district, other therapies). Create and submit all reporting, including appropriate recommendations ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Requirements Master's Degree in Theories of Art Therapy, Drama, Counseling, or Psychotherapy from an institute identified by the American Art Therapy Association required. Experience in a pediatric setting is preferred. Certification: ATR (Art Therapist Registered) by the Art Therapy Credentials Board; or RDT (Registered Drama Therapist) by the North American Drama Therapy Association. Valid Driver's License. Must be proficient in English; reading, comprehending and understanding the English language. Completed FBI and BCI background check. Professional Liability Insurance as recommended by the governing body. Positive and goal oriented, willing to accept the challenge of new assignments and be able to work well with others. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with emphasis on teamwork, customer service, and safe working practices. Must be able to handle stressful situations.
