LMI is seeking a skilled Senior Proposal Writer within the National Capital Region to join our Corporate Proposal Center. This individual will work across several customer markets and service lines in a highly collaborative environment to develop compelling and technically compliant proposal content that demonstrates LMI's unique value proposition to its customers.

Telework is available, but the candidate must be local to the National Capital Region and able to go into the office as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides direction and oversight to supporting writers.
- Works as part of a collaborative team to clearly articulate solution and strategy, approach to performing the work, experience, win themes, and discriminators.
- Applies communication and interviewing skills to gather needed information from internal and external personnel to support writing activities.
- Writes clear, persuasive, and articulate proposal sections; translates complex ideas into easily understandable text.
- Develops and implements process improvements to help improve proposal quality.
- Participate in color reviews and refine proposal content based on reviewer feedback.
- Update and maintain the Proposal Center's boilerplate library.
- Train supporting writers on proposal writing best practices, this may include designing training material, conducting a workshop or one-on-one coaching.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, History, Political Science, or related field.
- 6 years of Federal proposal writing experience, preferably solutions-based proposals.
- Demonstrated success writing and leading technical, management, resume, and/or past performance volumes for complex efforts.
- Must have strong interviewing skills with the ability to ask thought-provoking questions to push SMEs and supporting writers to think outside the box.
- Ability to coach and instruct others to facilitate consistency across multiple authors.
- Must be self-motivated and deadline oriented.
- Must have excellent writing and editing skills.
- Proficient with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under set deadlines.
- Must have excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Experience collaborating with SMEs to generate content that is compliant with RFP requirement.
- Ability to collaborate with the proposal team to generate meaningful CONOPs or other process-oriented graphics to support proposal content.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in a dynamic team environment.
- Ability to think strategically and solve problems.
- Must be a US Citizen.
Desired Skills
- Master's degree or higher.
- Experience with FEDSIM proposal is desired.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure modernization, agile methodologies, management advisory services, logistics, digital analytics, applications/software development and sustainment, and agile methodologies for defense, civilian, medical, space, and National security sectors of the federal government.
- Possess an active Top-Secret clearance.
