Summary
The Accountant I will assist with field ticket reconciliation, customer invoicing, accounts payable and accounts receivable. This is an entry level position.
Duties and Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
Process accounts receivable and payable, which includes creating invoices weekly, and entering vendor bills and credit card receipts daily. Working with the HR & Accounting Manager to ensure that customers are invoiced properly and vendors receive correct payment.
Record Monetary Transactions
Enter transactions, note important details, and attach backup documentation using QuickBooks online software. Create bank deposits and deliver to bank as necessary.
Payroll Duties
Balance field tickets to online time sheet software using Excel spreadsheet. Run payroll as needed. Assist with onboarding of new employees.
Perform Administrative Duties
Collect and sort the mail. Organize paperwork for data entry and/or forwarding to the correct personnel. Scan documents, help keep the company’s filing system organized, and buy supplies occasionally.
Other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Business Administration; experience is preferred directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, but not required.
- Knowledge of QuickBooks or other accounting software, Microsoft Office software and Google Drive/Email
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Knowledge of bookkeeping principles, capable of entering transactions through computerized methods
- Ability to efficiently input transaction information into spreadsheets, T-sheets or QuickBooks software. Attention to detail is essential here, as is proficiency with technology
- Ability to use office equipment, such as a computer, printer, scanner, copier, telephone, and adding machine
- Ability to take detailed notes, write effective emails and use good phone etiquette.
- Ability to drive to the bank to make deposits and to the post office as needed.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent math skills and the ability to double check figures for accuracy
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Exhibit well-rounded communication skills when interacting with employees, contractors, vendors and customers
- Ability to show up for work on time, when scheduled
Conditions of Employment
- Possession of a valid driver's license is a requirement for this job.
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
- Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment drug testing
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Work involves multi-tasking
- Requires light lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 25 pounds.
- Requires sitting at a computer for extended hours each day
- Work environment involves a general office atmosphere, sharing space with others.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
