What will you do in this role?
The Translations Project Manager is responsible for managing a translations project from
commencement to completion, as well as the client experience alongside the guidance of the
Programme Manager.
Key Task & Responsibilities
Client Management
- Owner of profitable and performance driven projects and client relationships.
- Manage the flow of all client and project communication.
- Client liaison when presenting project scopes, cost estimates and timing plans.
- To build and sustain loyal client relationships alongside the guidance of the Programme
Manager so as to develop opportunities for growth of new and existing business. - To be highly solution-focused and help clients achieve their objectives as smoothly and
quickly as possible without jeopardising the Lobster Ink quality of work. - To lead client meetings.
Team Management
- Mentor junior team members and lead with a strong, exemplary work ethic, to ensure best
practices are followed at all times. - Overall responsibility for project governance, ensuring all tasks are completed to the required
standard. - To provide strong guidance to the Junior team members to ensure that task deadlines and
timings are consistently met. - To encourage innovative thinking across the department and push team members to
implement more effective ways of working that improve the timing and delivery of production
outputs. - To facilitate regular ‘Learnings’ workshops with Junior team members.
- To build and sustain loyal vendor and freelancer relationships alongside the guidance of the
Programme Manager.
Project Management
- To compile accurate proposals, estimates and project budgets for production and translation
projects. - Set up and manage all assigned projects on our Project Management tool.
- Brief new project team members.
- Initiate project stand-ups and status meetings.
- Provide necessary direction and support to the team on the tasks and deliverables required.
- Manage project as per delivery plan and adjust where needed.
- To run client meetings, and assist team members with resolving project challenges and
responding effectively to changing client needs. - To manage client requests and flag any changes that impacts on scope change.
- To provide project updates to the Programme Manager.
- Actively track and mitigate project risks/issues, escalates in timely manner and drive teams to
effective solutions. - Enforce company process and manage the quality assurance (QA) phase for all projects.
- To deliver detailed recon reports in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure project closedown is completed timeously and as per standard procedure.
- Facilitate project debrief.
Skills / Competencies
- Technical background in a post-production, engineering or computer related field.
- A strong eye for detail and quality assurance experience is beneficial.
- Well organised and experience in running multiple projects simultaneously.
- Quick learner.
- Solid financial/commercial acumen and a strong focus on logistics (for scheduling and
resourcing). - Excellent client relationship, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must have the ability to lead and work with people within cross functional teams.
- A hands-on and professional approach to clients, team members and projects.
- Able to quickly build rapport, credibility, and trust with prospective customers.
- Confident communicator (good public speaker with excellent digital communications
etiquette). - The ability to plan and strategize at a high level.
Minimum experience required
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a Producer/Account Manager/ Project Manager/Post Production Manager with a proven track record in client engagement and retention.
- Management experience of a team is essential.
- Strategic as well as hands-on project/account management experience.
- Technical background would be an advantage.
- Leadership presence and leadership skills will be a differentiator.
Minimum qualifications/education
- Bachelors degree or similar.
- Qualification or certification in a technical field, marketing, or project management.
