LEAD ARTIST - Digital Painter & Illustrator

We are looking for an amazing digital artist to join our team in a LEADERSHIP AND INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTOR ROLE. Take inspiration from ideas into digital works of art, illustrations, and gorgeous renderings. We are an art, design, and fabrication studio located in Uptown Oakland that curates and creates art collections for commercial spaces. Our art team creates digital paintings, drawings, graphic designs, collage, murals, and everything in between. We are looking for creative, driven individuals that work magic with photoshop and take direction to create original works of art in numerous styles.
We are a very fast paced studio environment, this position must move quickly from one artwork proposal / design experience to the next - creating digital drawings and artwork, working with input from the creative team. Experience and education in graphic design, illustration, and fine art is essential.
Essential Qualifications:
- Mastery of Photoshop – This position requires knowledge at an advanced level; creating original digital artworks as paintings and prints along with preparing high resolution digital files (we offer a photoshop skills test at your first interview)
- Experience with aesthetic versatility, we need to work in a variety of subjects and styles
- Art Direction experience in a leadership position, directing and critiquing junior artists
- Graphic Design skills including a great compositional and color sense
- Art History, not just for college! Along with an avid interest in current interiors and design trends
- Fast paced, prolific, ambitious work ethic that is deadline driven
- Tolerance for admin / database work, it's part of every job...
Main Responsibilities:
- Create original digital artwork - all day every day!
- Provide feedback and critique to your team; following the client’s direction
- Take direction from our Art & Creative Directors to adjust / edit your artwork
- Create renderings of 3D sculptural works and art installation concepts
- Prepress digital work creating print ready, high-resolution files
- Brainstorm art installation concepts with the team, then create digital drawings and designs that show our clients what we can build in our studio!

This is not a remote position, we work in person at our Oakland studio as collaboration is key between the Art and Design, Fabrication, Print, and Art Consulting teams 5 days a week.
