Lockheed Martin Aeronautics/Advanced Development Programs (ADP) (Skunk Works) in Palmdale California is seeking a full-time Mid-Career Mission Systems/Avionics System Engineer.
This Engineering position is focused on design, integration & test, and field support activities. A combination of team work, independence, and flexibility will be required in the program where task responsibilities may be changing. Such tasks will include the following: trade studies; system architecture design and execution; hardware integration planning; operations support.
YOUR IMPACT
The selected candidate must be a self-starter and will work cross-functionally with other engineering disciplines, as well as with program leadership, and external customers and suppliers.
The ADP program environment includes complex, integrated system requirements, aggressive milestones, and dynamic task prioritization. The selected candidate must be willing to employ innovative approaches to maximize program performance.
The selected candidate will be required to prepare and give briefings as required to customers, technical leads and/or Lockheed Martin management. The candidate must possess exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Minimal travel may be required to Customer facilities and Lockheed Martin sites.
A level 3 employee Typically has 5 - 10 years of professional experience.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, System Engineering or closely related technical degree. Work related experience may be substituted for education.
- Experience with any of these systems: Communication, Navigation, Identification, Radar, RF, Electronic Warfare, Electro-Optical, Mission Computer Processors, SATCOM.
- Experience with Aircraft development (modification also preferred)
- The candidate must possess and be able to maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance and be able to obtain a SAP/SAR clearance.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with integration & test
- Experience working as a member of a multi-disciplined team
- Knowledge of the systems development lifecycle and associated processes
- Experience with cross-functional teams focused on design, fabrication, installation and testing of avionics components and associated cabling
Familiar with industry hardware and software protocols
- Experience with Avionics systems troubleshooting
- Experience with cable harness assembly and repair
- Work content: Able to use/hold/manipulate small tools and parts with hands. Simple grasping, power grasping and fine manipulation is required. Able to use vibrating tools and perform torqueing operations. Able to use power equipment.
- Heights: Able to work at heights. Able to climb stairs or ladders as required. Able to work off of step stools, scissor lifts, lift platforms and aircraft structure without handrails.
- Overhead work: Able to work overhead as required.
- Weight restriction: Able to Lift/push/pull/carry a minimum of 50 lbs Body positioning: Able to twist/bend (neck or waist) and stoop. Able to work in awkward positions as required. Able to squat/kneel/crawl/reach as required. Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $91,700 - $172,900 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

This position is incentive plan eligible. Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
