Description:Our System Integration & Test engineers work on early prototype Missile Launching Systems, low-rate production systems, and Legacy systems actively deployed with military units worldwide. In this Systems Integration & Test Engineer Lead role, you will lead Launcher System development and integration testing across land-based and sea-based launch platforms with requirements verification and validation, assembly, integration and launch testing, performance analysis, and system trades.

This role Performs test planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

You will plan and execute the integration and test program by providing key technical solutions. You will develop test plans, implement tests, develop test documentation, and maintain solutions for the integration and testing of components, elements, support equipment, subsystems and/or systems. The execution of this program will require this individual to lead various formal Product or System Integration Tests including Flight Testing where travel will be required. You will lead test efforts, including test equipment specification and system element simulator development, to ensure mission success for Launching System Integration.

Assignments can involve testing total Launch Control System and components within our complex missile launching systems. Candidates with demonstrated test leadership skills, problem solving capability, and multiple engineering disciplines are preferred. The candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with systems and software/hardware development engineers and other engineering disciplines. Tasks for Launcher Test Lead include:
- Plan Total Test Program from Product level, Systems Integration, End-to-End, through In-Field Flight Testing
- Provide Test Estimates and Staffing Needs
- Manage test team and communicate to internal program leadership and government customers
- Author test plans, test cases, procedures and standard operating procedures
- Develop Requirement Verification Traceability Matrix (RVTM)
- Execute test events, run formal engineering qualification test on prototype and production testing
- Perform analysis of test results and prepare comprehensive system and/or subsystem level evaluation reports which verify and validate system performance
- Author problem reports describing issues identified by testing
- Work with System and Software/Hardware design engineers to correct errors in designs based on test failures
- Candidate will lead Launcher Launch Control System Integration Testing and Flight Demonstration testing for various Launcher & Weapon programs including MK41 Vertical Launching System (VLS) and Advanced Launchers.
Basic Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, plus at least 9-14 years' demonstrated experience with System Engineering and Formal System Test Qualification Test processes and lifecycle, integrated test planning, and Test execution including at least 2 years’ experience as a Project Test lead
2. Experience with Lab/Platform/Flight test hardware and software Systems Integration and Flight Testing of military weapon systems including mission readiness reviews and range coordination
3. Candidate must be well organized, lead test team members, and be a self-starter willing to seek assignments and guidance.
4. Proven ability of working in a group development environment and ability to communicate to LM program leadership and external DoD Customers.
5. Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to comprehend and support test troubleshooting of complex integrated systems.
6. Excellent interpersonal, written, and group communication skills
7. Must be able to support moderate travel to various Land or Sea based test sites as needed
8. Ability to obtain & maintain a security clearance at the SECRET level.
Desired Skills:
1. Familiarity with MK 41 Vertical Launching System or other Military Missile Launching Systems or Combat Systems
2. Hands on exposure with Formal System Integration and/or Formal Qualification testing (FQT) and troubleshooting.
3. Professional engineering experience in a Systems Integration Lab and knowledge of Standard Test Equipment
4. Shipboard weapon system integration experience including coordination with US Navy for certifications, demonstrations, and tests
5. Demonstrated Engineering knowledge and related processes in the areas of test discipline with a focus on error prevention and safety, controls logic and data acquisition & instrumentation
6. Experience with COTS equipment and system integration, mechanical/electronic troubleshooting and use of Missile Simulation Equipment Test & Integration
7. Knowledge of the latest Test and Measurement Equipment (T&ME) and techniques preferred
8. Proposal experience (including proposal generation, BOE justification, fact finding experience)
9. Earned Value Management Systems CAM experience

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
