Description:Lockheed Martin Skunk Works is seeking an experienced manager in Supportable Low Observables (SLO) maintenance and survivability to contribute to technology development, develop and maintenance processes, predictive analysis, concept prototyping, radar cross section measurements, and flight test research activities.
Responsible for executing SLO for minimization of Life Cycle Cost (LCC) of LM products with LO design features including: implementation of supportability guidelines early in platform design; sharing of LO maintenance experience and methods between LO programs; identification of designs, materials, tools or methods, and improvements to reduce LCC for users; maturation of LO maintenance data analysis tools and systems to efficiently direct LO maintenance actions by users.
Lead Project Teams with development and execution of sub-thrust roadmap within SM&S organization. Team member for external CRAD customer interface, includes developing an integrated technology portfolio leveraging IRAD, CRAD, Shared Vision, University grants, & corporate thrusts. Demonstrate State-Of-The-Art (SOTA) SLO practices and technologies to reduce LCC while maintaining vehicle signature performance. Responsible to keep LM SLO roadmap in position to collaborate with government stakeholders as the government sub-thrust roadmaps and activities develop in this arena.
Provide vision of next generation Aircraft System SLO requirements and oversee successful execution of SLO Technology development roadmap IRAD and CRAD projects. Responsible to document and maintain processes for low observables maintenance best practices. Continue to develop new maintenance approaches to increase supportability of LM Low Observable aircraft.
Manage subject matter experts conducting SLO projects, successfully balancing technical, financial, and schedule milestones to the satisfaction of the customer. Participate in government reviews, industry forums, and internal Skunk Works program reviews as SLO subject matter expert.
The candidate must be a self-motivator and self-starter. The position requires strong communication skills. A demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and in writing is required as evidenced by prior final reports and technical briefings to large (possibly adversarial) groups. An ability to explain complex technical concepts in a readily comprehensible manner is an advantage. The candidate should have experience in customer/client interaction and preparing successful technical proposals. This will include the ability to perceive customer needs, develop a compelling technical approach to meeting those needs, clearly and concisely describe a plan for implementing the technical approach, and provide reasonable cost/schedule estimates for the work required.
The candidate will be expected to develop and execute R&D plans to meet needs defined by management or by the customer. The candidate will typically work without technical direction and may be called upon to provide technical direction for others. The candidate will participate in and ultimately lead multidisciplinary design teams to solve challenging aircraft survivability problems in the LO realm.
Must be a US Citizen, position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience with supportable LO
- Bachelor's degree in STEM or relatable field
- Top Secret Clearance with an investigation within the last 6 years
- Ability to create visionary roadmap for team growth and program execution
