What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Chief Engineer - Level 6 (Security Clearance Required) position at Lockheed Martin?
Description:Deputy Chief engineer of advanced development programs for Future Mobility and AMMM Improvement & Derivatives for the Marietta, GA site . The ideal candidate would have broad technical leadership experience in aerospace systems with expertise in multiple disciplines such as air vehicle configuration development, project engineering, systems engineering, airframe/structures development, electrical subsystems development, missions systems hardware and software development, and mechanical subsystems development. Additionally, the candidate should have relevant experience across the proposal, development, manufacturing, flight test and sustainment life cycle of the product. Experience with proposal development is highly desired. Key responsibilities are:
- Partnering with other elements of the program leadership team in the establishment/development and management of the program technical baseline
- Ensuring adherence to systems engineering principles and processes
- Understanding, implementing, and ensuring adherence to relevant engineering processes, lessons-learned, and best practices.
- Helping programs connect with resources (for example, Subject Matter Experts, legacy reports and data, test verification methods, etc.) as needed.
- Ensuring that airworthiness, system safety, and mission assurance/success principles are appropriately tailored to scope and rigorously followed - driving a mission success culture
- Facilitating Independent Technical Reviews in collaboration with functional engineering organizations
- Chairing Engineering Review, Airworthiness Certification, and Failure Review Boards as appropriate
- Co-chairing with the PM/DPM the program's risk and opportunity management board
- Assessing and communicating adequacy of program's engineering resources (staffing, tools, etc)
- Providing technical planning guidance (action plans, schedules,etc) and ensuring that the technical development plan is sound
- Briefing customer and Lockheed Martin senior management on technical performance, issues, risks, and opportunities
- Serving as an air vehicle subject matter expert for the program team
- Representing the project/program portfolio to the ADP Chief Engineer
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship
- Validating verification artifacts for developed products are complete and substantiating that the products meet system requirements
- Adjudicating inconsistencies in product requirements in coordination with the DPM and PM, when necessary
- Partnering with the products and program teams to identify opportunities for technical improvements
- Providing technical consultation to the program leadership team
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in an engineering / technical discipline
- Broad leadership experience developing aerospace systems including systems/project engineering, mechanical/electrical subsystems, and software
- Experience understanding, interpreting, and communicating multi-disciplinary technical concepts/issues to both technical and non-technical leadership
Desired Skills:
- Experience with application of airworthiness, Mission Assurance/Success, and flight safety processes
- Experience with root cause/corrective action, risk/issue/opportunity management, and technical trade study processes
- Strong background in systems engineering and mission systems development and system modifications
- Experience with proposal development for complex systems in coordination with geographically dispersed teams.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
