Test Field Engineer (WCS)

What does this role look like?
Overall responsibility for ensuring all AEGIS Weapons Control System (WCS) equipment and related interfaces to include Fire Control System (FCS) and Kill Assessment (KA) element are operational and available. Reports to the AWS Engineering Lead.

Specific responsibilities include:
• Ensure Combat System (CS) elements are fully functional and ready to support all test and operational events
• Responsible for Weapons equipment suites, setup configurations, equipment interfaces and data extraction requirements
• Conduct computer program updates when needed. Update ship board quick-look programs used to support AWS test program.
• Identify and resolve equipment and computer program issues
• Support conduct of special tests and investigations
• Responsible for your area of expertise to include plan, brief and execution of tests procedures
• Work as a team with other systems engineers, computer program developers, test engineers, technicians, and customer representatives to support Aegis Weapon System (AWS)
• Analyze test results and report findings as necessary for functional tests involving WCS, WDRC, and FCS
• Support Combat System Alignment Verification (CSAV) testing
• Relocation assistance is contingent upon Customer/Program approval
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Engineering or in a related discipline from an accredited college.

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Ability to travel up to 10%
Desired Skills:
• Aegis Weapon System (AWS) Platform experience
• Strong troubleshooting skills, to isolate problem to root cause.
• Good programing skills, to use and update shipboard programs.
• Demonstrated ability to own the process and move forward with minimal direction
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Unix

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
