Under supervision of the Environmental Health Supervisor, the candidate will receive training and perform semi-technical duties in the field of environmental health. Responsibilities include, food establishment, septic, well and other environmental health related inspections to determine compliance with applicable laws. The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or its equivalent, which includes coursework consisting of a minimum of 9 credit hours of basic sciences in accordance with the Environmental Health Practitioner Licensing Act. Candidates with higher qualifications such as a Bachelor’s degree with 30 hours of basic science will be considered for hire at the position of Environmental Health Specialist and will be eligible to conduct additional technical duties. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel software is essential. The candidate must also be able to work independently and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
