What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dentist position at Logan Mingo Area Mental?
This is a full time position located at the Chattaroy location of MLIH.
POSITION PURPOSE:
This position is essential to treating problems associated with the teeth and surrounding tissues in the mouth. Dentists also provide advice and administer care to assist in preventing future dental problems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide instruction on brushing, flossing, diet, and the use of fluorides and all other aspects related to dental care.
- Duties may include filling cavities, removing tooth decay, examining x-rays, placing protective sealants on teeth, repairing fractured teeth, and straightening teeth.
- Develop and recommend a plan of treatment in conjunction with other team members.
- Prescribe pharmaceuticals and treatment regimens and discuss potential side effects with patients.
- Meet all performance measures as defined by MLIH.
- Update written and electronic patient information and charts in a timely, legible manner.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with all state and federal laws.
- Providers have an active role in Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) through diagnosis and developing plan of care for patients, including but not limited to:
- Diagnose and manage chronic conditions utilizing evidence-based practices.
- Incorporate population management into treatment.
- Initiate and update plan of care for patients.
- Work in practice teams with ancillary staff.
- Participate in care team meetings.
- Participate in daily huddles.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DDM) from an accredited school. One year of post-residency experience required.
