Centralized Sterile Tech, PRN

Logan Regional Medical Center is seeking a Centralized Sterile Tech in our Surgical Services Department to perform the following duties:

• Provides inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements.
• Operates departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety.
• Provides customer service to all departments with a focus on the patient need.
• Processes and documents all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.
• Monitors and performs antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation daily.

LRMC has a full range of diagnostic imaging, including 3D Mammography, Fluoroscopy, MRI, PET, two 64-slice CT’s, Nuclear Medicine, Bone Densitometry, and Ultrasound. Minimum Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required Skills
Successful completion of a Central Sterile Technician program , surgical scrub nurse, or completion of on the job training in house. Must become certified as a central sterile technician within 6-9 months of employment and renew annually if no certification held.
