Logan Simpson has an immediate opening for a regular full-time Senior Environmental Planner to primarily focus on travel/roads management, GIS, outdoor recreation, and trail planning. This position would work a hybrid in-office schedule based out of our downtown Fort Collins, Colorado office, our Salt Lake City, Utah office, or any of our Arizona offices in Tempe, Tucson, or Flagstaff.
Responsibilities Include:
- Managing NEPA projects on public lands and communities throughout Colorado, Arizona, Wyoming, Montana, Utah, New Mexico, and other western states.
- Act as Project Manager for multi-disciplinary projects such as travel management, trail planning, recreation management planning, and land management with federal, state, and local land managers.
- Work will include researching and writing existing condition reports, mapping, coordinating project management activities, supporting public involvement activities, developing action plans, and performing other duties as required.
- Occasional out-of-state travel to visit project sites and attend public outreach events should be anticipated.
Position Requires:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Planning, Anthropology, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Studies, or closely related field.
- Proven technical expertise in preparing NEPA documents preferably for BLM travel management and trail planning.
- 6 years of related experience in a consulting or agency setting.
- Strong writing skills associated with natural resources or National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
- Excellent written/verbal communication, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and quality control a must!
- Ability to synthesize and present complex ideas through text and graphics.
- Ability to multitask and be able to adjust to daily changes in priorities to meet deadlines.
- Desire to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Self-starters with an eye for detail, a dedication to accuracy, and a passion for incorporating best practices and more importantly identifying and testing new planning ideas, practices, and technologies, are encouraged to apply.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Compensation:
This is a full-time position paid on a salaried basis between $60,320 to $91,520 annually, depending on experience and education.
