Job Description:
  • This position requires a detailed, team player who can complete and organize a high volume of requests for copies of health information. 
  • Receives and completes per policy requests for medical records from all internal and external customers (Attorneys, Physicians, Patients, Insurance Companies, Federal and State Agencies, etc.)  
  • The Specialist works with the Compliance Officer regarding any attorney requests and the HIPAA Privacy Officer regarding release of information and confidentiality. 
  • Logs request for medical records according to the documented workflows
  • Retrieves medical record information from chart; screens information to determine appropriate medical information to release; copies record for processing; and prepares and logs invoices for charges pertaining to copying record per federal and state regulations.

Job Qualifications:

  • High school graduate required, Associate's Degree preferred
  • Medical Records and/or Medical Billing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required

FTE: PRN (as needed) M-F
