Job Summary:
The Business Analyst implements and develops company-wide Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), both at board and department levels. The BA automates and calculates KPIs, develops and executes exception reporting around KPIs, analyzes and trends KPIs (variances and exceptions), and compares against budgets. The BA is responsible for advising President and CFO of metrics exceeding or underperforming against goals and thresholds.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements and formats.
- Develop define, and monitor KPIs to improve business analysis.
- Perform reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports. Understand and communicate to President and CFO the financial and operational impact of any changes.
- Prepare technical reports, construct workflow charts and diagrams, and develop cost estimate models.
- Interpret, evaluate, and interrelate research data and develop integrated business analytics and projections.
- Identify business trends using real data, compile analysis reports, and follow up on all results.
- Provide financial insight to assist decision-making process.
- Align capital and resource allocation within business budget.
- Drive initiatives for financial planning and business intelligence systems.
- Conduct market analyses to determine overall profitability of company.
- Prepare revenue and gross margin forecasts and budgets throughout year based on business inputs.
- Define project requirements by identifying milestones, phases, and elements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering or related field
- Master's degree preferred
- 6 to 10 years budget, corporate/institutional research experience preferred
- Ability to work cross-functionally and demonstrated analytical mindset
- Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to work well in fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, SRS, Business Intelligence (BI) tools, and CRM
- Adept in Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI, ConnectWise, and SSRS
