We are now looking to fill several Travel Crane Operator positions at the Palmetto, Florida operation of LOGISTEC Gulf Coast.

We are seeking experienced Crane Operators to work at our busy port terminals. This is an opportunity for the right individuals with a GOOD WORK ETHIC to demonstrate their ability to OPERATE electric, diesel or gasoline powered cranes to move products, equipment or materials to or from storage areas, or to load and unload trucks, railroad cars, or ships. Must be able to work overtime, nights and weekends while working in all weather conditions.

Your new responsibilities:

  • Operate ship’s cranes.
  • Inspect cranes for defective parts and notify supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
  • Clean, maintain, fuel and lubricate equipment.
  • Perform pre-operational check-out of cranes.
  • Assist with major maintenance on cranes.
  • Observe all safety rules and use good safety work habits.

You have the right qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the operation of cranes.
  • Ability to operate cranes by pushing and pulling levers and depressing pedals to raise, lower and rotate boom and to raise and lower by sight or with the aid of a signals assistant.
  • Ability to read and comprehend standard instructions, short correspondence, and memos; including, safety, instructional and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to present information in one-on-one group situations with fellow employees and customers.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations is a plus.
  • Outgoing, friendly personality.

All test records will be maintained on a confidential basis.

At a minimum, the Company will test for the drugs listed below:

  • Amphetamines (meth, speed, crank, ecstasy)
  • THC (cannabinoids, marijuana, hash)
  • Cocaine (coke, crack)
  • Opiates (heroin, opium, codeine, morphine)
  • Phencyclidine (PCP, angel dust)

In accordance with state law, an Employee who receives a positive confirmed test result may contest or explain the result to the employer within five (5) working days after written notification of the positive test result.

The Company has the power to impose disciplinary or administrative measures, up to or including termination, in the following situations:

  • Any Employee found in violation of the Drug & Alcohol Policy.
  • Any Employee who uses Drugs, Alcohol or Medication at the Workplace.
  • Any Employee caught using, selling, bartering, giving or producing Drugs, Alcohol or Medication at the Workplace.
  • Refusal to submit to a test or search.

The Company offers an employee assistance program for any employee seeking assistance for a drug or alcohol problem.
