We are currently seeking an experienced Superintendent for our Stevedoring and/or Cargo Handling operations. The purpose of this position is to accurately and efficiently communicate and coordinate stowage plans, personnel, equipment requirements and updates within the team.
Details:
- Scheduling:
- Monday - Friday, day shift with nights and weekends as needed based on vessel schedules. (Shiftwork Schedule)
- Compensation and Benefits:
- $70,000 - $85,000/yr. Based on experience
- Annual Bonus Plan

Responsibilities
- Accurately and Effectively Oversee Vessel and Terminal Operations
- Communications and coordination of stowage plans
- Coordinate personnel in vessel and terminal operations
- Maintain and update status of cargo stowage and equipment requirements
- Ensure equipment is ready for use
- Personnel Management & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate entry of vessel logs and related reporting to maintain vessel files
- Track employee time and attendance
- Conduct monthly safety review and trainings
- Participate in New Hire Orientation and/or New Hire Safety Training
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; College Degree preferred
- 2 years of industry experience preferred (Military Experience can be Substituted)
- 2 years of leadership/supervisory or management experience required
- Knowledge of methods and equipment used in cargo handling operations
- Ability to interpret documents such as stow/discharge plans, safety rules, operating instructions, and more.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and other computer programs
- Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card (for more information visit the TSA website on TWIC requirements)
- Valid US driver's license
Other Details:
- As a port employer our team is subject to working in all weather conditions including extreme heat and harsh winters.
- All employees must pass a background check, drug screening, and pre-employment physical including but not limited to a lift test. Our employees must also be able to obtain a valid TWIC card within 30 days of hire.
