Overview

LMI is seeking an F-35 Sustainment Analytics Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Office of the Secretary of Defense's transferof  sustainment activities for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Program from the F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO) to the Department of the Air Force (DAF) and the Department of the Navy (DoN). The F-35 Sustainment Analytics SME will ensure a balance of logistics and sustainment priorities, while creating and maintaining efficient and effective financial and business processes for the F-35 enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise onsite skilled personnel with the needed technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of DoD sustainment analytics and operational research requirements. 
  • Organize product support analysis data collected from various tools and identify any obligations that exist for sharing lifecycle sustainment data. 
  • Research existing platforms and develop ways to identify structured and unstructured F-35 sustainment data and develop an approach to enable DoD organizations to upload, search, and access relevant F-35 supply chain and maintenance data.  
  • Address intellectual property and technical data matters to enable supply support and maintenance planning. 
  • Assess and provide recommendations on the entire suite of sustainment metrics to provide ASD(Sustainment) with data-driven insights through metrics plans, procedures, methodology, and data visualization.  
  • Optimize the utilization of data generated by systems across the F-35 enterprise to boost system performance and mitigate operational risks.  
  • Recommend the metrics to enable the F-35 sustainment enterprise to assess logistics effectiveness, measure readiness of inventory and distribution management, uncover new insights, and improve outcomes.  
  • Recommend the use of tools, emerging technology, and various data sources to identify ways to improve F-35 sustainment data automation exchanges between systems.  
  • Facilitate the adoption of data-driven techniques to include advanced analytics and modeling and simulation to enhance asset performance and reduce the total cost of ownership.  
  • Assist in the creation of sustainment analytics solutions to improve F-35 sustainment effectiveness through Asset Performance Management, Predictive and Prognostic Maintenance, Predictive Logistics, Fleet Management, and Telematics. 
  • Communicate and coordinate with OASD(Sustainment) leadership and key stakeholders to track progress, resolve issues, and identify risks. 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Secret clearance is required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree. 
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a functional expert, consultant, or manager, actively involved in the delivery of data driven digital services and solutions related to sustainment activities.  
  • Demonstrated experience supporting F-35 and other aviation systems.
  • Expertise in any of the following domains: maintenance and reliability, asset reliability and availability, asset lifecycle management, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), predictive analytics, and asset performance management.  
  • Demonstrated proficiency and practical hands-on experience in operations and sustainment, covering fleet maintenance and sustainment support activities.  
  • Extensive background with a diverse array of sustainment data sources, encompassing maintenance, reliability, fleet management and asset data.  
  • Expertise in maintenance and operations data, including data collection, data cleansing, analytical development, and sustainment metric reporting). 
  • Experience with organizing, planning, leading, and collaborating with technical and cross-functional teams. 
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation and writing skills to successfully deliver briefings and interact with executive client leadership. 
  • Ability to work independently and deliver high quality work under time constraints. 
  • Strong MS Office skills (including Excel and SharePoint). 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

Desired: 

  • Master’s degree. 
  • Background with project management, critical thinking, and strategic planning. 
  • Understanding of deploying sustainment analytics at scale. 
  • Proven ability to analyze a variety of data sources and apply computational and machine learning methods to big data. 
  • Possess skills in scripting, coding, and data handling.  
  • Experience developing strategies for extracting actionable insights from sustainment data through modeling techniques such as natural language processing and statistical reliability analysis. 
  • Ability to create and foster a cooperative, respectful work environment. 
  • High-energy, enthusiasm, and ability to effectively interact with clients at all levels in government and industry.
