Overview

LMI is seeking a skilled Project Management Consultant to support LMI’s United States Postal Service (USPS) account. The Project Management Consultant will be highly skilled in project management, communication, project planning, and financial management. A successful Project Management Consultant will be detail oriented, possess the management skills to hold people accountable to quality expectations and timelines, and respond quickly to evolving client needs. The Project Management Consultant must demonstrate competency in leadership, strategic thinking, relationship management, multitasking, schedule management, and delivery excellence, while upholding the highest standard of ethical behavior.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Create and manage project plans and schedules.
  • Coordinate and lead project meetings
  • Produce and publish meeting minutes, action items and status reports for programs & projects, including risks, resource challenges, budget related issues, etc.
  • Be proactive regarding the status of key project tasks, anticipate delays, and take appropriate actions.
  • Develop positive professional relationships with Service Providers, COTS vendors, and Systems Integrators.
  • Maintain repository for project artifacts.
  • Perform “Ad Hoc” requirements as requested (e.g., research, communications, reporting, etc.)
  • A minimum of two (2) days per week in the L'Enfant Plaza USPS HQ office.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years of project management experience primarily within IT
  • Proven performance with Agile Development
  • Strong technical knowledge and expertise related to IT Platforms, network, and application software.
  • Ability to multi-task between assignments
  • Strong knowledge and experience using MS Project
  • PMP or equivalent is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with little direction.
