LMI is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support an Intelligence Community client. This position will be located in the Washington DC area.
Responsibilities
- Develop data structures and systems to support the generation of business insights
- Develop data transformation and data management strategies
- Define, design, and develop data requirements, data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and logical and physical models
- Develop methods, policies, and procedures to capture and maintain metadata
- Develop standards for data profiling and to improve data quality
- Create procedures for data archival, retention, and de-archival based on policies
- Collaborate with data owners, domain SMEs, and technical SMEs, to process data sets and engineer new features as appropriate.
- Leverage process automation, to include automating ETL processes, data validation and quality checks, and other processes.
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
- Bachelors in STEM or related
- 5 years of data engineering or data management experience
- Proficiency with major data sciences tools such as SQL, Python, R, and Git.
- Demonstrated experience with cleaning, management, optimizing performance and processing large volumes of data.
- Familiarity with industry best-practices for software-hardware optimization when processing large sets of data.
- Experience with machine learning, with statistical modeling, time-series forecasting, and/or geospatial analytics is preferred.
- Experience with Hadoop, Spark or other parallel storage/computing processes is a plus.
