Position Overview:
The Warehouse Specialist will execute warehousing operations to meet client expectations. This includes managing efforts from equipment operators and third-party suppliers. This Warehouse Specialist will oversee Inventory control, Unloading and Loading Operations, and maintain schedules. This candidate have a safety first mindset while assisting in leading the day to day operations. This position will play a key role in our day-to-day Operations to ensure we are meeting our required schedule. An ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to be a part of the team to meet trucking demand and inventory control.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a safety-first culture
- Maintains focus on continuous improvement; identify opportunities and implement process changes as needed.
- Provide leadership, support, and guidance to the Equipment Operators and Spotters
- Work with team to ensure each project’s operational needs are fully functional in Inventory system.
- Input shipping and receiving bills of lading in tracking system
- Verify bill of ladings are correct and confirm any discrepancies with client
- Maintain shipping and receiving records
- Monitor email for communication with client
- Maintain employee training records
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment and log results. Report any concerns to warehouse manager
- Maintain clean and safe work area
- Oversee Loading and unloading shipping and receiving trucks
- Monitor employees to ensure all work is being performed in a safe manner
- Ensure all new employees have read and understand the JHA (Job Hazard Analysis), EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety), and Project Plan manuals
- Responsible for training all new and current employees on warehouse safety processes and procedures.
- Attend all internal and customer meetings
- Ensure truck drivers have required PPE and notify carrier contacts of any issues.
- Other duties as assigned by warehouse manager
Required traits:
· High School Diploma
· Proven on-the-job experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
· 1-3 years related experience required in Warehousing, Inventory Management, Operations, or trucking.
· Functional knowledge of Warehouse Operations.
· Excellent Safety, Equipment, and problem-solving skills.
· Aptitude to succeed in fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
· Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
· Ability to travel if needed
· Experience with Inventory Management.
· Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office Suite.
