Position Summary:

This position is responsible for providing technical assistance and support related computer systems, hardware, or software. Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problems, and determines and implements solutions.

Principal Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Respond to queries in person, over the phone, or via email.
  • Train computer users and write training documentation.
  • Maintain daily performance of computer systems.
  • Ask questions to determine nature of problem.
  • Walk customer through problem-solving process.
  • Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
  • Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems.
  • Help resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.
  • Install computer peripherals for users.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved.

Education and Experience:

Formal education in a related field and/or equivalent experience or equivalent training preferred. This is an entry level position where technical will be provided to ensure success. This person should have ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, the ability to work independently with an interest in continuous learning, and creative problem solving. This candidate will have a high-level of dedication to quality customer service.

This person must possess a high level of written and verbal communication with a variety of audiences. Must have the ability to give clear instruction to both technical and non-technical disciplines. This individual should be able to adjust priorities on the fly while keeping the big picture in focus. This candidate should have a history of problem solving and the desire to learn, continuously improve, and be willing to accept responsibility. To fill this role, one must be able to work individually, or as a member of a team, use common sense and build a network of relationships with a positive attitude. Must have the ability to give clear communication

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Willing to travel as necessary. Must be able to sit at a computer for long periods of time. Work environment noise is moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the principal accountabilities.
