Marketing Tutor - Academic Team (Remote Working Available)

  • We are looking for a talented tutor to join our growing Academic team. You will be directly responsible for the tutoring, mentoring and assessment of BA & MA Marketing students. 
  • You will be a confident communicator, capable of engaging students with high levels of empathy and a focus on delivering an outstanding learning experience.
  • You will liaise with the Course Leader (CL) to coordinate the delivery of our programmes, within the areas indicated by the CL and directed by the Academic Board Committee.
  • You must possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge to effectively work within, and contribute to, the established teaching frameworks.
  • You must be highly proficient in written and oral communication – both in English as the primary working language and in your own native language (English, Spanish or Portuguese).
  • You must demonstrate an ability to deliver against assigned targets, often with short deadlines, to work remotely whilst collaborating with other tutors in the Academic Team, and manage the expectations of stakeholder groups across the school.

Qualifications required for post:

  • Masters Degree in a subject area directly related to Marketing.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ Teaching and Assessment experience in Higher Education (UK experience preferred).
  • Professional experience in Marketing as a practitioner.
  • User proficiency in IT, Remote Collaboration and E-Learning.

Overall purpose of post:

Responsible for working, in association with/supported by other academics, to provide selected aspects of the student learning experience normally at unit level.


As a Tutor, your primary duties will include:

  1. Demonstrate appropriate depth and breadth of specialist knowledge and understanding of the core knowledge in order to support learning in selected units.
  2. Support learning using a range of approaches and modes of delivery.
  3. Show evidence of formal peer review indicating good teaching practice; demonstrate evidence of positive student feedback.
  4. Demonstrate clear engagement in relation to teaching and learning, and a commitment to professional values.
  5. Support others in the delivery of assessments within an existing unit.
  6. Prepare innovative materials to support learning and teaching within specific units.
  7. Enhance and develop new teaching and content materials in response to student and peer feedback/demand.
  8. Perform a tutor role at undergraduate or postgraduate level dealing with straight forward student issues.
  9. Work collegially with your teaching team/support staff and others within the units.
  10. Develop effective learning environments and approaches to student support and guidance.
  11. Communicate subject knowledge in a format that is accessible to all students in an achievable context.
  12. Share personal good practice within the teaching team.
  13. Collaborate with others to incorporate relevant research into own practice.
  14. Take a role in developing and implementing projects to enhance the student experience in conjunction with others.

  • Innovation & Initiative - your overall contributions to innovate within the team / wider school

You will receive training and become part of a highly collaborative, effective academic team that deals with students in 50 countries around the world. If you have previous online teaching experience, this is an advantage. We provide statutory holiday, additional time off where required, and flexible working hours.


This position is full-time and located at our office in Porto - Portugal. 

The candidate may be allowed to work remotely with approval from the Deputy Director.
