Staff Accountant
Job Title: Accounting Clerk

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Bayonne, NJ. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in QuickBooks, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Invoicing and MS Excel. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in property management or construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Maintenance:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks.
Process and record financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable entries.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice verification and payment processing.
Handle accounts receivable tasks, such as invoicing, payment tracking, and collections.
Expense Management:
Monitor and analyze expenses to ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.
Identify areas for cost savings or efficiency improvements.
Bank Reconciliation:
Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Financial Reporting:
Assist in preparing financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other relevant reports.
Assist in Budgeting and Forecasting:
Collaborate with the finance team to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in accounting or related field.
- 3-5 years of proven experience as an Accounting Clerk.
- Experience in construction or in property management would be preferred
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Assist in Ad-Hoc requests as needed!
