ABOUT THE POSITION
Long Beach Community College District is currently seeking one (1) full-time tenure track Computer Information Systems Instructor commencing with the 2020 fall semester. The primary teaching assignment involves instructing information systems courses with a focus on beginning to intermediate skills in computer networking, cyber security, and current cloud-based computing technologies. The Computer and Office Studies Department also serves students who are trying to satisfy general education requirements.

- Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in the discipline; OR,

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Information Systems, Cyber Security, Information Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business Administration with a concentration in Information Systems.
- At least three years of recent experience teaching computer networking, information technology, cybersecurity, or cloud-based computing including software development, operations, infrastructure, and security at the post-secondary level, especially community college.
- Three or more years of experience in at least three of the following: computer networking, cybersecurity, cloud-based software development and operations, operating systems software, or.
- Educational and/or instructional development in cybersecurity, networking, cloud computing, database management, data analytics, computer programming, or office productivity software.
- Evidence of the ability to use a variety of equitable teaching strategies that encourage retention and engage diverse student populations.
- Evidence of innovation, scholarship, or leadership in the teaching of computer networking, information technology, cybersecurity, or cloud-based computing including software development, operations, infrastructure, and security.
- Desire and demonstrated ability to participate actively in the department, division, and college committees and in the shared governance of Long Beach City College.
- Desire and evidence of an ability to take on leadership roles both within the department and in the institution as a whole.
- Commitment to the Mission and Strategic Objectives of Long Beach City College.
- Evidence of an ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
