Primary Function:
Employee in this position for overseeing activities including purchasing, supporting fabrication, shipping and transportation, inventory, and delivery. May be responsible for managing the entire development cycle of a product, which includes how a product is acquired, distributed, allocated, and delivered. May also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, vendors, and customers.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Controls and coordinates the efficient flow of goods, services, and information between point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements.
- Ensures that customer service and time objectives are achieved within existing financial constraints in order to meet marketing and financial objectives.
- Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes, such as the replenishment system, data interchange systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration and related functions.
- Builds relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives.
- Integrates learning from customers, competitors, operating entities, distribution, transportation, customer service, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to continuously improve competitive position.
- Review the success of logistical functions and identify areas for improvement.
- Responsible for ensuring quality both in procurement and delivery of items.
- May interface with customers and clients to provide information and assistance as necessary.
- Understands the principles and requirements of Supply Chain Resource Management (SCRM) and can source and procure material within SCRM restrictions and FAR requirements.
- Capable of assembling components needed for sub-assemblies for Information Systems to include basic cabling.
- Work as a member of a team with the ability to effectively communicate ideas and strategies.
- Responsible for managing travel for the multiple personnel within company and Joint Travel Regulation Guideline.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
