Who You Are:
We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a Café/Deli Attendant. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationship with staff and residents. The right candidate will always strive to do the best job possible, to be creative and to work towards accomplishing facility goals.
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Executive Chef and the Dining Room Supervisor, the Café/Deli Attendant will work at our Java Ranch Café. The Café/Deli Attendant is to courteously and professionally serve all residents and their guests’ meals in Java Ranch. The Attendant is a key person in public relations for the community due to the direct contact with residents and their guests.
Accountabilities:
- The Attendant is responsible for the preparation of food items on the menus for the residents, guests, and associates according with standardized recipes; preparation methods, portion control, serving methods, and follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
- Performs pre-opening and closing checklist duties as assigned.
- Assists in maintaining a high level of customer service for residents and guests.
- Responsible for properly storing and labeling prepared foods.
- Follows standards for merchandising, stocking and product rotations.
- Alert management of any concerns or problems pertaining to the residents, guests, or associates.
- Operates POS system to register sales.
- Maintains back-stock areas and assists in the monthly inventory according to department standards.
- Trains other staff as needed.
- Maintain work areas and keep the department in compliance with OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications
- Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and work cooperatively with other associates.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess interest and initiative to learn quickly, work as part of a team and to build relationships with residents and coworkers so that excellent customer service may be given.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs to waist height and 35 lbs to shoulder height.
- Must be able to push 200 lbs on a cart with casters.
