Longwood Gardens is seeking a part time Garden Shop Plant Specialist to support the retail operations of The Garden Shop. We are looking for an energetic, customer-oriented individual who will assist in all things related to plants – educate guests, maintain displays, process shipments, and care for plant material in all shop areas.
Responsibilities include:
- Educating guests about plant selections and plant care.
- Processing sales and transactions on the POS system including processing plant shipments.
- Adhering to shop safety standards, inventory accuracy, reduction of product loss, and upholding all company policies and procedures.
- Communicating watering and general plant care concerns to team and provide sales floor coverage.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A knowledge of plant identification, care requirements and insects and disease identification
- Computer and system knowledge of sales register, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and others as identified
- The ability to stand for long periods of time, lift and push a minimum 30 pounds, and work in most weather conditions
The work schedule varies and includes weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Salary : $29,000 - $36,800
