Lorain County JVS is a Career and Technical Education Training Center. It consists of a public high school for students in grades 9-12, and the Adult Career Center, which offers training and educational opportunities for adults.

Appropriate step on Director of Communications Salary Schedule commensurate with experience and education
BENEFITS:

WORK SCHEDULE:
Full-time – 260 days per year
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred
Five (5) or more years of related experience including media relations, supervisory and project management responsibilities
Write, edit, and proof professional news releases, feature stories, articles, speeches, scripts, newsletters, brochures, memos and letters in accepted news or business style as appropriate for various audiences including media, marketing and advertising promotion
Use current computer technology and software including web development and internet marketing programs
Analyze and utilize market research and institutional data for the development of communications, marketing, and public relations, programs and objectives
Manage a comprehensive external and internal communications program including the development of effective promotion strategies as well as creating, producing and evaluating projects and campaigns
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal guidelines, policies, rules and regulations
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of Ohio K-12 educational programs, services, legislative requirements, policies and current issues.
Review and interpret highly technical information
Ability to establish and maintain timeliness and meet deadlines
Working knowledge of photo-editing, document design programs, web pages, advertising, marketing, public relations and social media trends.
