The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated, technically-proficient professional to assist with fund accounting and fund administration policies, drive forward service provider oversight, think strategically and collaborate effectively to help Lord Abbett achieve its financial and regulatory reporting obligations and product development initiatives. The right candidate will help bring transparency and deeper understanding to the Fund Treasury & Tax team. The ideal candidate understands fund accounting and regulatory reporting and believes in the power of data and technology to transform business activities.
We’ll trust you to:
- Assist with daily review of NAV oversight and reconcile variances
- Assist with the financial review of regulatory filings (including annual and semiannual reports, Form N-PORT, Form N-CEN, Prospectus and Statement of Additional Information filings) in accordance with SEC rules and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Review of expense budgets and daily expense accruals
- Assist with daily review of Fund borrowing programs
- Collaborate with colleagues in Offshore Fund Administration, Tax, Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, Investment Operations, Client Lifecycle Management, Client Services and Investments
- Assist with preparation and delivery of daily deliverables
- Work with Offshore Fund Administration colleagues to ensure globally consistent practices, while remaining mindful of local requirements
- Take on additional projects and responsibilities as needed
You'll need to have:
- 2-5 years’ experience. Fund accounting and custodian bank experience preferred
- Basic understanding of mutual fund servicing from a financial, accounting and regulatory perspectives
- Basic understanding of mutual funds and other investment vehicles such as private funds and CITs
- Proficient in Excel and Power BI (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
