Position Summary
This position oversees the manufacturing activities occurring at a production plant including ensuring the meeting of goals such as profitability targets, schedules, quality control, and supervising shift personnel.
Essential Job Functions
Oversees production process; ensures production is efficient and cost effective; reviews production rates; verifies performance meets or exceeds required levels- Verifies product meets specifications; makes adjustments as necessary to meet specifications as appropriate
- Creates production schedules; adheres to schedules; monitors production processes; adjusts schedules as needed; plans and organizes production schedules
- Drafts timetable for jobs; determines required resources; communicates with purchasing team; decides what to buy to maintain production flow and control costs
- Plans and establishes work schedules, staffing requirements, and production sequences to maximize productivity
- Sets quality control standards; performs quality control tests ensuring production output meets relevant standards
- Monitors product standards; implements quality control programs
- Builds production related reports; summarizes performance and potential issues going forward
- Participates in planning turnarounds, startups and other large projects; leads startups as required
- Assesses projects and related resource requirements
- Meets all environmental, health, safety, and security regulations and standards; stays current on all regulations and standards; ensures staff follows all requirements
- Understands the work required for each position
- Analyzes production performance using production data; identifies bottlenecks and other issues; identifies problems before they become significant
- Estimates, negotiates and agrees budgets with accounting and managers
- Liaises with purchasing team members and marketing and sales staff as appropriate
- Assists in organizing relevant training sessions
- Manages positions such as Technical Advisor, Shift Superintendent, Operations Maintenance Coordinators, and Production Engineers as assigned; leads production engineering and operations
- Selects and maintains equipment; organizes repair and routine maintenance of production equipment
- Abides by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participates in appropriate safety training; demonstrates commitment to and support of EHSS principles and values; champions safety
- Performs other duties assigned by management that generally fall within the expected scope of this position

Experience & KSA’s Required
Minimum of 8 years’ operations experience in petrochemical or similar industrial environment- 3 years relevant supervisory experience preferred
- Proven skills in manufacturing
- Extensive knowledge of operations processes and requirements
- Familiarity with concepts, practices and procedures used in plant environment
- Experience with and knowledge of EHS requirements at site
- Ability to assess information and make timely decisions
- Excellent analysis skills required
- Proven abilities with budgeting and adhering to said budgets
- Knowledge and understanding of EHS regulations and standards
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through on assignments
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to use database systems and other programs and applications used by this position and at Company
- Fluent in English language including reading, writing and speaking; ability to read and write at a minimum of high school level; ability to clearly communicate to all levels in organization
Education Requirement
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering in a petrochemical plant environment- High School Diploma or equivalent required
Salary : $70,600 - $89,400
