JOB SUMMARY
Leads and drives the safety culture at LGLNA by building the strategy and influencing leadership and support for safety and risk management across the organization. As we launch our North American Expansion Plan, we are looking for a current industry safety leader that is successful in their current role yet looking to expand their responsibilities, further develop personally as a company leader and drive personal and company financial gains through a culture of safety. Responsibilities
This leader will work with the LGLNA leadership team, our employees and the logistics operations team to cultivate and implement a world-class behavior based safety culture. * Build a behavior based safety program, including but not limited to training, onboarding new employees and re-training. Must have the ability to evangelize and build broad based support and buy-in across all employee groups and leaders.
* This leader will work with our technology team to design, build & implement our enterprise safety systems. These systems will enable proactive processes and tools that will ensure safety performance & regulatory compliance for our trucking and logistics operations. * Develop and implement the tools and training programs to support a continuously improving safety culture. i.e. Regulatory compliance, Job safety analysis, driver safety program, PPE policy, hazmat training and emergency preparedness.
* Lead and collaborate with our IT team to develop safety KPI’s & dashboards to ensure our operations leaders have visibility to trends that are actionable and drive continuous safety improvement
. * Ensure our operating terminals and trucking operations are in compliance with all federal and state regulatory requirements. * Support the company successfully achieving industry quality standards as part of our quality management system strategy. i.e. ISO9001 *Basic Qualifications* * 5 years or more of safety leadership at a top tier transportation and/or 3PL company * Bachelor degree or equivalent relevant experience * In-depth knowledge of FMCSA, DOT and state regulatory rules and requirements * Transporting hazardous materials certification * Possess a proven track record in achieving and exceeding safety goals across a national transportation network * Proven experience with developing and implementing business continuity and emergency preparedness plans. * Demonstrated leadership capability with a proven ability to drive results. * Strong interpersonal, influencing, and negotiating skills, with the ability to build credible relationships with multiple departments and areas. * Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization * Ability to analyze input from multiple functions, develop effective problem solutions to complex business issues, and present recommendations. * Demonstrated ability in performing in a fast-paced, changing and demanding environment * Excellent analytical and organizational skills. * Familiarity with behavior based safety and tools with a strong continuous improvement mindset. * Software proficiency with MS Office suite, and industry leading safety systems.
