Essential Responsibilities :

  • Supervise, coordinate and participate in activities of cooks and other kitchen personnel engaged in preparing and cooking foods in the carry out.
  • Prepare menu items per Malnati high quality and ingredient standards.
  • Provide input on estimates of food consumption and ordering. Receive and examine foodstuffs and supplies to ensure quality and quantity meet established standards and specifications.
  • Responsible for all food quality.
  • Assist Manager to ensure proper inventories are kept on all prep items. Store food properly and safely.
  • Maintain established level / quality of sanitation and cleanliness. Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene and health standards.
  • Oversee appropriate cooler temperature, organization and rotation
  • Train and cross-train personnel as assigned.
  • Provide input on most effective scheduling of kitchen staff.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training and developing kitchen personnel and with employee discipline and termination.
  • Responsible for Kitchen maintenance and repair of the store. Report maintenance, repair and safety concerns to Management.
  • Participate in kitchen inspections.
  • Prepare catering orders and special events when necessary.
  • Attend staff meetings as deemed by Store Managers.
  • Any other responsibilities as may be assigned by the store manager or a member of kitchen operations

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment and utilize tools necessary to complete their job duties.
  • Ability to make and flip pizzas; work pizza ovens (proper cooking and rotation of oven, especially at busiest times); and work steam and pantry.
  • Ability to prep all prep items.
  • Ability to completely perform all regular kitchen staff duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to correct pizza mistakes according to standards set by Malnati's.
  • Ability to teach how to make pizza, all other menu items and all prep items according to high quality standards as set by Malnati Organization.
  • Ability to work varied hours / days including holidays. Ability to work extra days and hours when circumstances require.

Flexibility to rotate to other locations.

  • Willingness to work towards conflict resolution with the management team and staff.
  • Ability to be part of creating a safe, fun, efficient, positive team orientated environment.
